The previous record for the most whole blood donated (female) was held by India’s Madhura Ashok Kumar, who had donated 117 units in her life, according to Guinness World Records.

Josephine began donating blood at the age of 22 in 1965, now for almost six decades. Josephine’s blood type is O+.

She was roped in as a donor by her older sister, who had a blood donation appointment back in 1965. And since then, she never stopped.

“I decided I would join her and that was the beginning. I feel like I have it in me to give. I can share it to people that need it,” Josephine said.
