Fakhar Zaman, only in his third game, became the third in the list of batters that hit most sixes during the World Cup in India.
The opening batter was unbeaten on 126 off 81 balls, smashing 11 maximums and eight boundaries as Pakistan needed 142 runs in 93 balls to defeat New Zealand in their game in Bengaluru on Saturday.
The game between Pakistan and the Blackcaps was once again interrupted by rain after a brief play. Earlier, the match was delayed due to rain and Pakistan was set a revised target of 342 in 41 overs.
Indian skipper Rohit Sharma and Aussie opening batter David Warner have both hit 20 maximums and are ranked first and second respectively. However, it took them seven innings to reach the highest count of sixes during the World Cup.
Compared with Sharma and Warner’s seven innings, Zaman is playing just the third match of the World Cup where he also hit Pakistan’s fastest ton in World Cup history.
