Former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz supremo Nawaz Sharif said on Tuesday that despite ouster as prime minister three times, he did not reveal national secrets.

This he said while reacting to Imran Khan and Shah Mahmood Qureshi's conviction in cipher case while addressing a public gathering in Dera Ismail Khan.

He took a swipe at the political opponents, saying, ‘’The tabdeeli had harmed the country, where the roti is available at Rs 25.’’

‘’The PTI founder had compelled the nation to beg. They [PTI] indulged in attacking the military installation.’’

Nawaz Sharif said in PML-N times, the prices of medicines were too cheap, and medical treatment was given for free. We had also bid farewell to the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Earlier, former prime minister Imran Khan and former foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi were sentenced to 10 years in prison in the cipher case.

The verdict was pronounced by Judge Abul Hasnat Zulqernain of the Official Secrets Act special court after conducting proceedings in Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi.

The judge said the prosecution had enough solid evidence to prove the crime.

Both the accused were present in the courtroom at the time of sentencing, and they refused to sign the statement questionnaire under Section 342 of CrPC. They said they would not sign the questionnaire in the absence of their lawyers.
