Out of the 19 cancer hospitals built across Pakistan, Balochistan could get only one, established in Quetta, to tackle the ailment requiring expensive treatment.

“Despite assurances by the provincial government, medicines are not yet provided. This has simply compounded the problems of the patients battling the fatal disease,” Dr Feroz Khan Achakzai told private news channel.

He said that currently, more than 2,000 cancer patients are under treatment at the Bolan Medical Complex and the Cenar hospital.

Balochistan government endowment fund has halted the Medicine supply to Cenar hospital for the last two months, he added.
