Khan, who has been brought into the squad to replace the injured Naseem Shah, maintained that he had never thought he would represent Pakistan on such a big stage.
"I am feeling great. I had never thought I would play Asia Cup," he said in a video by the Pakistan Cricket Board. "Playing Asia Cup for Pakistan is an honour for me."
The 22-year-old has played six T20Is for his country, taking four wickets. However, the 50-over format is a different ball game, but Khan looks ready for the challenge.
"It was a pleasure to meet my team after a while. I had a good practice session, and I am ready [for the game]," he added.
Moreover, the young pacer talked to Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf to understand the playing conditions.
"Haris bhai Shaheen bhai have played a lot of matches here. I asked them how to bowl on this wicket, and they told me. I will try to follow their advice." he concluded.
