Amid the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, a video of the Israeli ambassador to the United Nations being dragged out by security personnel from the General Assembly is making rounds on social media.

Those sharing the video claimed that the incident was recent and connected to the ongoing conflict.

The video shows Gilad Erdan, Israel's ambassador to the UN General Assembly, holding a poster bearing the message, "Iranian Women Deserve Freedom Now." The video features a text that reads, "Israeli Ambassador kicked out of the UN General Assembly."

India Today Fact Check found that the video is from September this year and is unrelated to the ongoing conflict between Hamas and Israel.

A subsequent search using relevant keywords led us to a WION report from September 20, 2023, which featured screenshots from the viral video. According to the report, Gilad Erdan, the Israeli envoy to the United Nations, made a powerful statement during the General Assembly by holding a photograph of Mahsa Amini. Amini had allegedly died in police custody in Iran last year after being arrested for opposing and violating the country's strict Hijab dress code.
