Rupee ends week with loss at interbank market

The rupee declined further against the dollar in the interbank foreign exchange market on Friday, the last trading session of the week.
The greenback gained 88 paisas to reach Rs284.31 at the closing of the market, as against the closing of Rs283.43 the previous day.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Stock Exchange added more than 400 points to cross the 53,000 mark after six years as Pakistan held negotiations with the International Monetary Fund along with clarity in the domestic political environment.
The benchmark KSE-100 Index gained 466.27 points or 0.89% to reach 53,123.03 levels at the closing of the trading session.
However, the KSE-30 Index shed 111.06 points or 0.62% to reach 17,803.9 levels at the closing of the market on Friday.
